代表性项目(Research Grants):

l2018/2019 MWK-FELLOWS COFUND Fellowships (the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program No. 665958) at Max-Weber-Kolleg, University of Erfurt, Germany, project “Eckahrt’s 64 Homilies for the Liturgical Year and China”, completed in Sept. 2020.

This project aims to promote the publicity of Meister Eckhart and to carry out comparative studies between medieval China and the Latin West on that basis. Despite an enduring interest in Eckhart in East Asia (China, Japan and Korea) over the last few decades, the modern interpretation of Eckhart as a mystic makes it difficult to see the real Eckhart in his own intellectual, social and historical contexts. Hence a solid translation of Eckhart’s own words is needed which defines the horizon of Eckhart’s thinking and puts some restrictions on all sorts of spiritual imagination in his name. A collection of Eckhart’s homilies with detailed introduction and comments helps Chinese readers to delve into the spiritual and intellectual world of this great Dominican master. During my fellowship I have completed the translation of the two volumes of Eckhart’s homilies into Chinese, based on the recently published English translation by Loris Sturlese and Markus Vinzent.

lResearch project funded by American Lingnan Foundation, entitled “Research on W.T. Chan’s Academic Life, Intellectual Legacy and Posthumous Influence”, in charge of translating the oral biography of W.T. Chan（翻译陈荣捷先生口述自传）, in progress.
